lol My sister says she'd sorta perhaps prefer an arranged marriage to dating & all!!
It can be tricky, yeah... I went out with guys that at least showed some potential, or that I wanted to cross off the list as 'definitely no' (if I met them online or something)
If I didn't like them in any way, I didn't go out with them... Or maybe I went for a drink or something, but as 'friends only'... Some of my friends went for a drink or such with people out of sheer boredom, but they didn't consider that a 'date'...
PS This is in 'How To Start a Forum' - maybe 'general chit-chat would be a better place for topics of this kind...? They might get a better response there... (?) |

Hello Padma. I'm Indian too but have been dating since the last 3-4 years (high school). Quite simple.
A guy likes you or you like a guy. He asks you out (or you ask him out) to go some place with you.. coffee house or pizza place for starters. Over a few conversations, if you still like each other, then you could venture into commitment.
You do not go out with everybody. else you'd be bored to death or annoyed during the course of the date. You only go out with someone you like. That way, you can look forward to more dates with the person. Also, dating does not necessarily mean you're committed to the person. It means you're only 'seeing' him or her. |
