|
|
I love a lot of TV shows that come on today but there are always threads about them. So, how about favorite oldie TV shows? My favorite oldie TV show was Growing Pains. I had such a HUGE crush on Kirk Cameron back then, even had a poster of him on my ceiling so I could see him while I was laying in bed! Wow, what memories!
So what was your favorite show from when you were growing up? |

| LOL. This post amused me because I read the subject line thinking of what I consider an "old" TV show. Example: The Andy Griffeth Show, Pettycoat Junction, Leave it to Beaver. When I read "Growing Pains," I laughed to myself. I do remember that show though. Great family comedy! I wonder what my kids consider "old" shows. I'll have to ask them sometime. Great thread! Thanks for posting it. |

I'm rather fond of the old 60s era Doctor Who series, particularly the set with Tom Baker as The Doctor. I remember as a kid, staying up late past my bedtime to peer over the couch while my parents watched the reruns on PBS. It was just a very cool show.
I've recently watched a bunch of the episodes, and while the special effects are a bit laughable, it's overall held up quite a bit in my esteem. |

One of my favorite shows is not from when I was growing up but is from the past.
Spenser for Hire
I always loved the plot in the stories and Robert Urich was a great actor for the leading part. |

I'll reveal a guilty pleasure.
Perhaps not as old fashioned as I Love Lucy or Dick Van Dyke, but anyone remember Hey Dude on Nickelodeon? Kids working summer jobs on a dude ranch?
Fantastic! Only thirty episodes or so but they re-ran them for years. I’ve probably seen each episode 5 times or more. Where’s the remake movie? Isn’t it time?
“Not old enough to count as old,” you say? “Full House on Nick at Night,” I reply. |

I have to admit, I still have a fondness for the original Star Trek. Call me a nerd, call me a geek, I don't care, I grew up on that stuff and I still like to catch an episode now and then.
The scenes where Kirk and Spock achieve victory over alien computers by trapping them in a logic-loop are priceless. As are the episodes where Kirk is an alien babe magnet. |

I'm not that old but I do love to watch the older shows and I would have to say my favorite is Full House lol.
Some parts are actually funny, but with that cheesy ending every time like a sitcom should be.
I don't watch the Olsen twins grow up, but I never get tired of watching them stay the same age lol |

| I love this post! Right now I am addicted to Beverly Hills 90210. Before that it was The Big Valley! I love Lee Majors when he was young. They are on at the same time so I cannot watch both. |

Old is relative, but I think we can all agree that anything pre-1970 would be considered old? If that is the case, I have to give it up for Leave it to Beaver. Don't you just want to kill Eddy Haskel?!? (and I mean kill in the best possible sense) I love that guy.
Seeing as how I'm not very advanced in years, my favorite older show would be the original Transformer cartoon or maybe Salute Your Shorts. And really any old 80s Saturday Morning Cartoons.
The good 'ole days. |

| I would have to say 'The HoneyMooners' is my favorite oldie show. I think it is the best comedy of all times! I always watch this program during New Year's holiday when they have 'The HoneyMooners' marathon. The inventive script, Jackie Gleason, and the entire cast's marvelous performances make this comedy a thoroughly enjoyable experience. |

My favorite old tv shows are The Andy Griffith Show, Leave It To Beaver, The Big Valley and Green Acres. Those are shows that my dad used to watch, too. I'm from the Who's the Boss, Growing Pains and Full House era. |

Wow! "Growing Pains" is considered an "oldie" show? I wasn't even living at home anymore when that was on TV!!! LOL This completely cracks me up!
Personally, I loved "Marcus Welby, M.D." and "The Andy Griffith Show"... now those seem "old"
It's all relative, I suppose. |

It depends on your definition of "Oldies." I was born in 88, so anything from the 80s-90s is considered "Old" to me. So by my definition, I like:
MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson is soo cute!)
Sliders (Relatively new, but still old to me.)
As for really old shows, I grew up on the Honeymooners. I used to watch it all the time with my mom when I was a (little) kid.
They air reruns of "The Beverly Hillbillys" on a local TV station here. I watch it & knit on weekdays.
There was, a long time ago, a TV show along the lines of "Alice in Wonderland" That I used to love. It was sometime in the 90s, on the disney channel. Anyone remember it? |

I can remember seeing all the shows discussed above! lol.. Granted, some of them were in re-runs by the time I ever saw them the first time, but they were still good back then, too. I, too, have to admit the crush on Kirk Cameron back in the day! And, does anyone else remember Charles In Charge?? Oh, what I wouldn't have give to have HIM as a babysitter! |
