So, I'm a cheapskate. You can ask anyone who knows me. If I can spend less money on clothing, I wil.
So I turn to Deconstruction, reconstruction, and making my own clothes. Anyone else do that?
My favorite thing is to turn an old pair of jeans into a skirt or other wearable. I recently made a pretty skirt out of an old pair of jeans, by cutting them down to a miniskirt, and sewing strips of fabric to it. It's a tube to my knees, and then the strips are left to flap about.
It's hard to describe, but very wild. I've gotten compliments on it everywhere I go.
I also turn old t-shirts into halter tops for wearing over bathing suits in the summer.
Anyone else DIY? |
