I've made money as an affiliate before. But what I found was that I sold more stock and made more money when I advertised my website offline than when I spent time and money online!

Don't just think that you can sign up to an online service then sit back and watch the money roll in.

No such thing as a free lunch Smile

I use google adsense and have just signed up for Bidvertiser which is very similar but has a much lower payout.

I run 4 websites: 1 is straight ecommerce so I obviously make money from selling product, 1 is ecommerce plus community, 1 is an advertisng program and 1 is straight informational.

I use affiliate programs that are topical to my websites that I find through the big affiliate groups like Shareasale.

My idea about making money with websites is to have a lot of channels earning for you... even if it is very slowly. I also pick up pennies off the street when I see them. Smile

I use Google Adsense on my sites too. The fact that it is created using Google Page Creator Beta version, the layout already include anything that Adsense needed. Still looking for more revenue though.

I want to try and create more sites that contain products for specific things i.e. niche market that has affiliate programs to join. I have seen others making money through this channel too.

Hi
Been a webmaster for a little over 4 years now and have found that using affiliate programs seem to work pretty good for me. It is solw money at first, traffic has a lot to do with it as all webmasters know.
Of course the ever so powerful law of averages comes into big play on the internet.

I'm not sure if any of you have had any luck with it, but Myspace is very popular with those of us in the younger crowd. If you have something that is marketable towards our groups, I would highly recommend advertising it through Myspace, as you then have thousands of potential buyers.

There are so many ways to earn money from your site.

They have a places where you can sell adspace on your site. You slip in their code and they do all the work for you! That might be one to use if you have loads of traffic. On another note you can sell your ad space yourself. I just noticed yesterday a site that sets up advertising on a monthly basis. You pay them so much per month and they put your ad up on their site. I thought that a great way to make money for their site.

Google adsense is good.

I've heard others have real good luck with Chitika they show products relevent to your site. I think Chitika is pretty cool looking.

Clickbank sells ebooks on so many things that it would be a good place to search.

Cafepress you can make up some of your own products.

You can sell your own information through ebooks or a private part of your website.

There are so many more but that is a few I can think of off the top of my head.
Very Happy

I don't make money with my website. It's a free website and I can post google adsense on it. Maybe some day I'll move up and pay for my site so I can use google adsense.

Google Adsense, yes this is also the one that I am currently using, I'm about to reach my first $100.00 in about 6 to 8 months from now. The good thing about Google Adsense, it's easy to join and put adsense on your site.

I have chosen to place the firefox link onto my website, through the google adsense program. $1 per click and download!! That's quite good I think!

The problem I've had with affiliate programs that pay a percentage of sales is that my audience doesn't seem to be the online-spending type. There are a few merchants though that offer services or programs that have done well - survey sites, contests, points programs, etc.

Google AdSense is great for me, and even the search bar turns in a decent profit occasionally - but it's sporadic. The money you can make with AdSense really depends on your keywords and the advertisers that want to appear on your site.

Has anyone done well with Amazon links?

I have a little success with affiliate marketing. ClickBank products are not so hard to sell like some people think. However, my problem is that the clients often ask for a refund after purchasing something and I'm very sure they still keep the product!

I have never been successful with Amazon links. AllPosters.com links bear the same result! Embarassed

Affiliate gathering is a big boost for your website, as is Google Adsense, the more people you get coming in, the more likely you'll make money from ads.

Google Adsense has been good to me. If you don't want your pageviews to go to waste but also don't want to have to deal with selling and keeping track of your ad space, it's any easy way to turn a profit.

As far as affiliate programs go, I have quite a bit of success with programs oriented around the internet (not surprising - everyone visiting my site is using it). Wink

I've been using Google Adsense, Commission Junction, Amazon and Kanoodle. I haven't had my website too long so I haven't received any checks yet. I'm still waiting for my traffic to increase. I've heard good things about all of the sites I mentioned, so I have high hopes of making some money before too long.

Are there any specific websites that are required to insert the google adsense? I realize that Google does not allow free (or atleast I assume this). I have been interested in starting a blog and inserting adsense on to that, but still not really sure how to go about it yet. Suggestions?
