Forumer.com is a free phpbb and IPB "Invison Power Board" host.
They allow you to use as much bandwidth and space as you would like. The only thing that is done to you is a small banner on your forum, but it is not to bad because it automatically blends in with the color of the skin that you are using. Unlike many other free forum hosts forumer allows you to remove the ads on your forum by purchasing F Bucks or f$. At a price for $1.00USD you get 6000f$ which will provide you with 6000 af free page views. You can also earn f$ at their amazing support forum with over 200,000 posts.
Although they do not offer many modifications on their phpbb forums due to security reasons I would have to give forumer.com a 4.5 out of 5 for a free forum host.

The word of this site must not be out in the foruming community. I have heard about it a while ago, and even tried it out, and it is an amazing way to do free hosting, which is why I never undertood why people use Invisionfree, this is the same thing but with f$ capabilities.

Though I have to say I found the phpbb hosting sub-optimal for forumer.

I'm member of Strawberry Gang, a forum hosted by this service.
They use IPB to run this forum, and works really good. Sometimes, I must say, private messaging and some other functions don't work.
Though it's a free forum hosting service, so many ads are annoying for users.
But this site is absolutely worth after all.

I use forumer and have generally found them to be a good free service. the advertsing isn't too obtrusive (hey, they need to pay their bills). A few months ago they had some extended downtime and technical problems (including spontaneously subscribing ever member to every thread) which caused *big* headaches, but they seem to have sorted it out.
