Barack Obama was elected president on November 4, 2008. I am very excited. Hopefully, our economy will get better soon. This election was historic and one that I will remember forever. How do you feel about Barack Obama being elected?

I am so happy that Obama has become president. Although, I think no matter who supported him and who didn't it will be a memory everyone remembers be it good or bad. Not to mention he totally won by a landslide. I voted for him but I had this big feeling that McCain was going to win.

I did vote for Obama. I think he is so eloquent and easy going. My dad loves George Bush, he made me go to a rally for him when I was eighteen. It was not fun. He is very upset that McCain didn't win.

I agree with others. He is really a great orator, one of the best of our times. At the start of the campaign season, I was excited because I always respected McCain for his honesty and moral uprightness. I thought that we would see a great campaign season because I knew Obama was in the same mold. However, unfortunately McCain allowed his campaign to be run by Karl Rove's henchmen rather than trust his own instincts. In short, his campaign came across as childish, shrill and bullying. So I am glad that Americans made the right choice. Kudos!

I agree, John McCain allowed his campaign team to do whatever they want. I mean Sarah Palin especially came off as horrible when saying Obama pals around with terrorists. Obama/ Biden take office January 20, 2009!

I so agree! I think Obama is going to make an amazing president. He stands up for what he believes in and he really does care about the American people. I am not sure we will see a change in the next year but the US will start turning around within the next 4 years.

Yes, Barack Obama will be a great president. He has a lot of common sense. He is such a great public speaker. I know that he will bring honor to the office of the presidency.

It did not truly matter to me who became president in 2008. Once I realized that the electoral college decided who was president, and not the people, I became disheartened and only voted for my local authorities. The fact that even if someone lost the popular vote, they could still win the election by a few electoral college votes is outrageous. We need to abolish the electoral college, and give the peoples vote back!

I know how disheartened you are. Luckily, Barack Obama won both the electoral college votes and the popular vote.

I personally think that we should limit campaign advertising to withing 2 months of the election, that way we don't spend so much money on advertisements and such.

Being a bi-racial woman who has lived both on the West and the East Coast, I have to say that at first I was not confident in our country's evolution. During each step of the process, I was surprised to see him progress further & further. When he finally won, I was really proud to see the changes I hoped for in our country were a reality.
Everything those before us fought for was proven successful. We as a country have really grown and matured. And not only am I proud to be half black, I am VERY proud to be an American. |
