My favourite free web hosting website is www.freewebs.com
It's the only one I know that doesn't have irritating banners and other advertisements.
It's completely free and gives pretty much space for you to use.
The only bad thing is that it doesn't accept PHP. |

I used them once while testing my website. Now they have this werid little popdown thing that happens like 5% of the time. It usually says: "Hosted for free at www.freewebs.com" but now I have seen banner ads.
Compared to most, this is a small price to pay. |

| I used to use freewebs and they used to be good. There free services were good and not to many advertisements so I switched to there paid service, and they even started adding advertisements to that. I left straight away I am not paying for a service to have advertisements when I dotn want them. |

| 1500MB.com is the best free hoster I have seen. You get 1.5gb free hosting space. You can use one of their subdomains or use your own domain name. |

| I have actually done free webhosting through bravenet. Like any other site hosting company you don't get the luxury of having your own domain name BUT for the most part. It's reliable and i have never really had any problems with any of my free sites. |

| Remember, if you opt for a FREE provider, try to make the amount of time you rely on them limited. They do have the option (they call it a right) of "pulling the plug" on your hosting for any reason or no reason if they so choose. Just use common sense. |

| I'm not saying there is anything wrong with using a FREE web host. I'm just saying to limit how long you rely on them and have a local backup of your site if possible. (or even a hard-copy print-out will do in a pinch.) |

Ouch, doesn't accept PHP? I like many of the free site hosting sites out there, but for my own needs, I most definitely need to have PHP when compiling my sites/forums/blogs.
The vast majority of my sites, forums, and blogs are hosted off of Lunar Pages. You really can't beat their prices and bandwidth. Between the 4 sites I'm currently running off of one LP account (yes, you have to pay for it, but sure as hell is worth it), I get 15,000 Gig BANDWIDTH! That is freakin' insanity!
I average out of all of my sites under that one account about 20,000 views including downloads and streaming videos only to take up all but 4% of my bandwidth for a month. |
