What`s the best kept secret in dieting?
It seems strange, but most diets fail because people don`t drink enough water! Apparently the brain confuses the 'I'm thirst' signal with 'I'm hungry' and we snack instead of drinking. |

| I have never been over 110 lbs. There is no real secret. I am a voracious eater but I eat only when I am hungry. I see to it that I do some walking and exercise everyday for at least 15 to 30 minutes. For dietary constraints, I refrain from red meat. More fruits and veggies added to my plate is a treat. Instead of cola or coffee I choose fresh fruit juices and shakes. The state of what I eat (especially viands) should be more close to nature or its original state. Sometimes raw, exceptions are meat and fish of course, if I do eat one. Plus, no preservatives please. |

I do not believe there is a "secret". I think problem is that people do not dedicate themselves to a diet long enough to see the results. They want to see results overnight. As a result, they resort to dangerous "magic pills" that claim to help you loose weight by doing...nothing!
Diet and exercise has always been my philosophy.
Diet:
| Quote: | Stay away from foods high in calories and fat.
Eat a piece of fruit at each meal.
Drink skim milk twice a day.
Do not eat out too often. |
Exercise:
| Quote: | | Those those walk are actually benefiting themselves more that those who run / jog. Go for a walk for 30 minutes at a relatively fast pace (the point is to raise your heart rate), and stretch before and after. |
And the most important thing:
Stick with it for a few weeks. You will not see results overnight in any diet! Never resort to "magic pills" that claim to help you loose weight by not doing anything.
All of these elements combined have helped me stay nice and slim. Hopefully these tips have helped you. |

It all depends on you and your body. Try to go to the gym more often ( swimming will do wonders), walk instead of driving or taking the bus, stop drinking alcohol or smoking. Also eat healthy food, forget about junk food. These are simple thing that have a huge impact on your body and your state of mind. You'll feel lighter and helthier.
And yes, water is very important, especially in summer time. |

Oh, if some diet you've found out about in some glossy magazine has no results, then try talking to a nutritionist. It can offer you solutions to your weight problems.
Do not forget - your health is the most important thing you have! |

There is no such thing as a secret in a diet, it all comes down to power of will! I am a competing bodybuilder which gives me a lot of knowledge about dieting. Off-Season is heaven, I eat AS MUCH as I want and can and still put on a minimum amount of fat but the trouble comes when a contest arrives. 12-15 weeks before I have to start dieting and there is nothing to it but dedication and as I mentioned before, POWER OF WILL.

Diets are a nightmare. I found a friend in my corner helped me stay on track. I have gone down to a size 4 at around 120 pounds from a size 18 at around 180 pounds. I have done Jenny Craig. It worked. I have been to a gym with a coach and food intake restrictions. I obtained a size 4 by eating like a bird. Small amounts of food with no fat or sugar.
It was hard work. The thing that helped me the most was the support of people around me. I needed personal positive reinforcement while I continued heavy weight training on the gym machines and little amounts of food. I do not feel I could have done it without a friend to encourage me.
Find a partner to help you. A diet buddy will help you not give up. |

| I think the secret to dieting is motivation. How determined you are to make your goal has an enormous impact on success. When I diet I try to focus on what I want and not that I'm depriving myself of this or that. Staying positive and keeping a focused mind frame can help you achieve anything. |

Age has a lot to do with it as well. When I was younger, I ate a lot more then I do now, but never gained weight. Now, I exercise just as much, if not more, but if I ate half what I used to eat, I would not be able to fit out the door.
Your body does change as you get older, so I try to walk and do other activities and eat in moderation. Once you start eating the right amount that your body needs, you get used to that. But always give yourself a little treat every now and then. That way you won't lose control when tempted and go on an eating binge. |

The secret is changing your lifestyle. There's so many aspects to consider when it comes to losing weight. It's more than the food you eat and getting to the gym for an hour everyday. You have to eat, breath, sleep, live healthy.
There's a reason obesity is so prevailant in developed countries... and it's more than just the calories we consume. |

Its important to drink water every day. I recently bought one of those water filters - just fill it up from the tap and put it in the fridge. Tastes fresh and a lot better than tap water.
Other than that keep away from too many fatty foods or high sugar foods (careful of the natural sugars)! |

| I guess the only secret that I know of dieting is to do lots of housework. That way, you're killing two birds with one stone. Also, I love spicy food which helps me have higher metabolism. |
