Google Adsense is a great way to earn cash from your community site. For those not familiar, Google Adsense is a program that delivers targeted advertisement that is relevant to your website/community via a small code placed on your site. The best thing about it is that's all you have to do! It doesn't require updating, selling, or promoting of any sort. When a visitor to your site clicks an advertisement link, you earn money! You are paid per individual click. All that is required to get started is a little bit of your time to create your AdSense account and place it on your site. You can learn more here.

I am almost agree with you Sunchild .. But In the start I had the Adsence with my forum and after 2 years I had only 20$ in my account .. and I think it need another 8 years to go for ayout .. So I stop there ..

Now , I am affiliated with Clicksor Network and its good. Has less click rate but also has less payout rate .. just $20 ..

So, this time I will recomend . Clicksor :: Google is ok too if you have a webmaster/money making site etc ...

I have been running my forum now for just over a year and have adsense placed at the top of my forum. It gets about 2,000+ impressions a day and some days not even a single click. The most i made was $11 in March. I tryed a modifction for my forum which made a post after the first in each new topic, the members moaned and didnt like it so i removed it. I just dont think i will make much money with my forum at the minute, well atleast no more than the few cents a day i am bringing in now.

Google Adsense banned me and my site.
I had forced my friends to click ads daily and lots of times.
I even clicked my own ads and google adsense has banned my domain.
I am seriously not interested in buying a new domain for adsense. Afterall i know this much that adsense is not a good idea if your forum is not at all active.

You have obviously gone about it the wrong the way and violated their terms and conditions, to sum it up you have basicly got what you deserved as you tried to fraud the system. No offence intended here Wink

With Google AdSense, you run the risk of advertisement blindness if your regulars are exposed to them too much. I suggest not blending the ads, and instead make them look a little bit of an eye-sore by using non-matching colours for the layout. That way, it will counter ad-blindness.

This will not run counter to AdSense's terms and conditions, and has been passed by AdSense Specialists. If you want to be safe, you should e-mail Google to review the page for compliance.

For me, I have an adsense account, I just can't use it. It says I need to fill out a tax form and mail it but I don't know which tax form to use. I don't even live in America so I don't know why I have to do it.

I kind of forgot how I did it when I registered with AdSense, but it didn't entail entering any tax information. Did you indicate that you are residing outside the USA?

How did you get started so fast?

Do you already have an established web site or something? 50 cents straight off the starting line is something I would love to have!

I just started with Adsense four days ago and have a couple of dollars in my account already. I have ... let me count... four websites, two blogs, and two forums that I have attached the adsense bar to. None of them are particularly busy (yet!) but I am getting click throughs.

Personally, I believe that you should stick every possible way of generating income in as many places as you can without being annoying. Laughing If I only get paid the by AdSense once a year, it is still an extra $100 I didn't have before!

I will have to look into these other recommended programs.

I always wanted to register to Google AdSense. But the probelm is that I don't have my own website yet. Can I use other means like advertising my account in Myspace or Friendster?

I use google adsense but I don't think I will make any money from it as my blog is
too political! Therefore google keep taking away the paying ads. Sad

Still I'm doing a public service so the public service ads kind of fit. Very Happy

Go see politics in action: http://uk-rkba.blogspot.com Twisted Evil

Anybody here who has an idea if our accounts with adsense will be removed if we're not active? I just don't know how to design a website, tried googlepagecreator but to no avail, just don't know how to insert ads for content and now, I don't know if that site will ever be published... and my adsense account is very inactive.

Hi Geline,
I don't think Google will close your account for inactivity. The best way to learn about putting adsense on your site is to read through Googles instructions. They even have videos over there which are so helpful! Don't worry its a step by step process that takes time to learn. I know it was so overwhelming when I first started!
Very Happy

I must agree and can actually state that no Google won't close your account for inactivity. I actually stopped using certain sites for almost a year, I remembered one day and went back. The money was still sitting in there waiting for me to add it up. Now I'm experimenting a bit trying to learn how to increase my earnings. I've discovered many useful sites besides google that help in my learning stage. No, you probably won't make $100 overnight, but it will add up. The longer you stick with it the easier it seems to become.

It has never been easy to make much money with Google Adsense. I have some websites of my own and have tried to follow all the tips to get traffic to them. However, I haven't been able to earn a decent income with it. Embarassed
Google Adsense doesn't close your account for unactivity but some of my friends have their accounts closed for no clear reason. Google just sent them an email stating that they had broken its rule and that's it! It didn't show out which part of the rule they had broken!

Maybe I am being naive, but forums are not there to make money.

The idea of having advertising through someone like google adsense is to cover the costs of hosting and admin.

Well that's my view. Some of the issues highlighted in forums, and the tips you can pick up are what is valuable IMO.

I haven't tried ads on my forum yet - I have them on the main site and they make some money. I'll try adding them to my forum soon though, as it is slowly becoming the most popular part of the site.

If you are starting a forum just with the intent of making money though, I think that could be the wrong reason.

I have several google adsense adverts on my site, and I have made plenty of money from them.

Lets just say they have paid for my web hosting which is great as from now on it is just profit to come in.
