^This one is nice too. No flashy ads- just a simple Google Adsense running across the top, which isn't distracting at all. It was really quick to set up and offers the ability to add mods and the like, if you're into that. The only down side is that there isn't a place for your OWN Adsense and the banner/header size is limited. |

| I have personally used Forumer, and i was not happy with the service. My forum kept crashing. In my opinion, paid forum hosting is a lot better. |

I am on a dedicated server.
I was simply planning to start a paid forum hosting, very cheap though but will try to manage the forum totally and thats what I was thinking of taking money.
I hope that helps and I would earn. |

You could check out http://www.forumnitro.com (not my site) they offer remotely hosted phpbb forums for free. Maybe you could add this site to the list in the original post. |

I do know you can get a remotely hosted free forum from Bravenet.com, but it doesn't have too many options for personaliziation if you ask me.
Thanks for the great list. I'll be checking them out. _________________ Melanie |

Of corse its going to be better, its paied. I use Forumer alot too, but then the PHPBB seemed really limeted as far as my needs, and I did not know of any other forum hosters I could have for free. So now that I see this list, I am inspired to look at some more, great list, thanks alot.
I'm looking for a good hoster where i can try out all the features a normal one will allow you to, only under their domain and their ads. I dont like to invest money in something I may be disapointed in. |

I know so many people say you get what you pay for, but it really is true. A free hosting site is just not as good as one that is working to keep your money coming into them. I perfer a pay site. |

| You all have to try forumotion. These people have the best forums and the best service ever, plus, they're free. I've had my forum with them for a long time now and they're always adding more features. You also have no limits to anything that you want to do, and you have full control of your forum. Plus, you can hide the ads if you don't want them to show for no cost at all. And you can monetize it however you'd like also, so long as you don't use sites like bidvertiser or adsense. All other things you can do though. |

Instead of using those forum hosts, you could also try to set up your own phpBB forum on a 'normal' , ad free, free host (I like www.hostsnake.com, but there are tons of free webhosts without forced ads on the web).
Don't know how to set up your own phpBB forum? http://www.sitepoint.com/article/build-a-phpbb-forum is a tutorial (I didn't write it so don't give me credit for it ) |
