Is everyone all set for Christmas ? not long to go now and the weeks will fly by, I said last year that this year I would buy something small each week and then I would have all my presents by Christmas week, but of course this has not happened LOL I am here with not one gift.
How about you ? have you got any presents yet ? |

'Tis the season to advertise...
I think that Christmas has become a massive marketing tool. Everybody has to get more presents, more presents, more presents.
I don't really MIND Christmas, but I'm one of those people that could live without it. I'm not a Scrooge who doesn't give presents and is grumpy on Christmas, but frankly it wouldn't bother me if we didn't have it. |

| I have not bought any gifts yet. We have birthdays in December to think about before Christmas even gets here. We also are expecting a new baby in our family ...also a December birthday! |

I'm getting ready for Christmas. I went early to the mall to get some stuffs for the decoration. I still need some more to complete the entire theme. I hope it will be ready before the middle of November. Getting excited for the presents! |

| I hate all the advertising leading up to Christmas. It starts earlier each year. So I never do anything for Christmas until Dec. I dont buy anything until the last 2 weeks. It make sit more exciting and it feels mor festive. We have also started to buy less for presents, and as we do kriss kringle it make for a cheaper time of year. We can then try to think of the real meaning of Christmas. |

I start my Christmas shopping during the after-Christmas sales of the previous year. I have a little dresser in my guest bedroom where I store presents all year. I'm a very frugal shopper but also enjoy buying nice gifts. For example, I might see a cookbook on sale for 75% off. I'll buy it now so that a couple months from now I can give it as a Christmas or birthday present. |

I don't like Christmas at all... actually, I hate it. My husband teases me and tells me it is some trauma from my childhood, which might well be the case. We tend to go on vacation during the holidays, so no mandatory *nice* family gatherings for me...
As for presents... In the Netherlands we also have a *presents holiday* early December, so for a long time we did not do Christmas presents the way other countries do. But the last two decades, Christmas has won more and more terrain and is now dominant. Personally, I prefer buying a present for someone when I bump into something nice for a specific person. It does not have to be his or her birthday to give a present. When I see something for someone, and I have the money (which is not always the case) I buy it just then and there... |

| Christmas, also referred to as Christmas Day or Christmastide, is an annual holiday celebrated on December25 that marks and honors the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. |

I can remember when I was growing up, everyone in my family used to buy the biggest tree in the store and decorate the whole yard with Christmas lights, Santa Claus and the reindeers, but now I don't bother celebrating Christmas but I make a HUGE meal for Thanksgiving.
I personally don't celebrate Christmas anymore because I don't feel that it's necessary to spend a lot of money on gifts and other Christmas things like Christmas trees, lights, present wrappers, etc..
I prefer to just do some of those things all year around and not just on one day, I mean the gift giving part. That's only one day and it goes just as fast as it comes. |
