I have a forum and I am using SMF.But the problem that I ave been facing is that whenever I am enabling my froum for the guests, they could access the entire forum that is the topics, messages as well as posts and boards. Now what I want is that I want to restirct them only to view the forum index and if they click on any topic or catagory they will be redirected to the "login' page. Is there any mods available for doing this??Anyone please help me regarding this.

Then your permissions are setup incorrecly, thats the only answer it could be. Are you in the admin area showing that "guests" can access certain boards?

Chappy is right. You should be able to set your permission controls to allow guests to see whatever sections you want and then grant them posting privileges to any or all sections you wish.

Are you maybe using an old ver. of SMF that you might not be sure where the settings are or something? From all the ones I have been an admin/mod on SMF is the easiest to figure things out with (lets not talk about the newest ver. of phpbb). Very Happy

Sometimes there are check boxes to change "View" "Write" "Edit" etc. Are those maybe your problem?
