"INTERNET" is often heard by everybody. It sounds not anymore stranger to our ears. I could not just imagine myself right now, without internet. Through internet, distance is not anymore the great hindrance for communication, business, banking and even more searching important datas. It is considered the greatest tool now a days. When your at home, you can make everything possible if you got the knowledge of internet. For example, I am here in Germany and my native land is Philippines. When you think, I am thousand miles away from my family and friends, but this is not my hinrance of communicating them. I feel like I?m at home because of the power of internet. I usually chat with them everyday and I could even more talk and see them. Internet makes my life colorful. Without it, my life would be so boring.
How about you? Do you feel the same as what I am?

Internet is important because of these we can communicate with our family and friends inside and outside of the country in short around the globe as long that they have the Internet connection.
Internet also used in business, especially when communicating with their clients, placing or canceling orders, they can access it anytime and anywhere.
This can be used also in schools, in researching articles, ideas for the projects, and many more.
Internet is part of the growing economy right now. _________________ Laarni |

If there was no internet - I'd die... :O
Seriously, though, the internet is everything. So much relies on it, that if it ever did go down on a worldwide scale, it would be totally catastrophic. While the obvious things would happen - like everyone being unable to use email, it would effect so much more - banks and other similar corporations rely on it, and without it... Ahhh!

| Internet is a lot for me. Its cheap to communicate than phone. And I feel comfortable to write email than doing phone. I never can imagine my world without internet. It has given me world wide connection, world wide information. |

There is no doubt the Interent has transformed the entire world. It changed the way we do business, the way we purchase products, the way we communicate and with whom we communicate. For many people it's opened a world once beyond their reach. Having said that, I also think there are negatives to the Internet.
The Internet can cause people to isolate and to avoid actual human contact. Unfortunately the Internet for many people is their only means of interacting with other human beings. While it's nice to be able to speak to people in Russia, China or wherever, communicating with a person over a computer is not the same as actually communicating with a person face to face. |

| It means alot to some people, but if you dont have it, go do something. Go outside, meet new people, get a job, there is lots of things to do. Computers only get you so far, unless you have a career that is involved with computing. |

The internet is a great tool. IMing friends/family, teleconferencing, ppt presentations, research, etc etc the list goes on. In some ways it makes our lives easier and less expensive. The only downside is that I can see that it can hinder our social skills. There is now a screen between people and fewer and fewer face to face encounters with people. America has a growing obesity problem and just like the TV was to blame for it, the computer (internet) can also have a finger pointed at it.
So be sure you don't spend too much time in front of the computer |

The internet is very important to me. I use it to keep in contact with my friends and family, by email, IM and things like myspace and facebook.
I also help run a Harry Potter forum, through which I have made some fantastic friends. I really started to use the internet in 2000, when I discovered the Harry Potter fandom one day on google. I then got into writing fanfiction, which I love, and also which has helped me immensely with my writing skills.
I use the internet as a means of keeping in contact with old school friends, and I honestly don't know what I'd do without it. I guess you could say I'm addicted |

I can not remember a time without the internet. I often have to remind myself that my parents don't understand the world of the wide web, whilst trying not to sound like a nerd when explaining to them the simplistics of a keyboard!
I probably spend most evenings on the internet, running a Harry Potter site alongside my friend, talking to friends on IM such as Skype, writing and graphics designing, surfing the net and posting on various forums which I find passes the time.
Many people think that the internet will burn your brains, yet I have learnt quite a lot from the internet, especially since creating my own site, and I think I can safely say that I would be lost without it. |

For me, Internet is a "have to".
I used to see the Internet as just a means to pass the time, but now, it's like oxygen!
I have friends and family who have moved away and the only means of communication nowadays is email because it's so much cheaper than long distance charges.
I also do 90% of my shopping online, 85% of my bill paying online, and starting next week I will be attending college full time online.
So, for me, Internet is not a "choice" but a "have to". |

| The internet has made it alot easiar to accomplish things that we couldn't actually do in the past. I think that the world would come to a crumbling hault if we were to lost the internet. IT's just something that we have all depended on. So to take that away would be like murder, lol. |

I've spent more than 10 hours in the internet. My eyes and hands are glued to the PC. As in, less than 2 hours, I crave to eat more. From my weight 132 lbs, I am now 140 lbs. I couldn't imagine my day without checking my mail, do some research and talk to my friends and loved ones abroad. |

| I totally agree with you. I think the internet has had a big impact on just about everyone's life. People do most of their shopping online, pay their bills online, WORK online, do their homework online, read the newspaper online, etc. I can't imagine going back to a world without the internet. |

| I could imagine myself without it, I'd probably just spend the time doing something useless like watching the TV. The internet has became television, if not bigger, it's like when your parents used to say "What would you do if you were around in our days when we had no televisions?" now it's "what would you do without the computer" I don't think the internet will be going anywhere, or at least anytime soon, hopefully. |

| The internet is only needed because we have become dependent on it. If we were never introduced to it, we wouldn't miss it at all. So I don't think we need it but since our world is wrapped around it now, it's needed. Everything that we do intertwines with the internet so to not have it would kind of be hard. |

I'm very glad that the internet has come into our lives. Nothing can beat it when it comes to convinience, the ability to pay off your bills while sitted at home is simply amazing. Even the environment benefits due to savings in gas and paper. On top of that you can actually make a living out of it. But we all should avoid being on the 'net for too long. 10 hours on the internet is ok when you have a big project or something similar (I usually work for about 14 hours for a few weeks when on a major venture). But as a way of life... I think that's too much.
And don't try to make excuses about keeping contact with distant relatives or friends. Chances are, you're cramping their lifestyles and robbing them of the time and chance they need to make new friends. Learn to let go. Speak to them once a week or so.
You should also take a day off once a week from the internet. Visit your neighbour or friend, go to the park, gym, shopping, or church. The point I'm trying to make is: for that day just socialize, and leave your laptop at home. Imagine all of the fresh experiences you might bring back with you. Besides, I've had enough of rampant divorces and dilinquent kids! |

| For me, I would be out of this world if I miss my Internet connection. I will loose my contacts, and important emails which are to be replied urgently. Life would just be a still life. |

| I think that the internet is highly over rated. I believe that the world is beginning to evolve around the internet which isn't all that great. If we end up finding ourselves dependent on the internet, we may find ourselves suffering if anything ever happens. I think we should keep it simple at all times for those just in case moments. |

I have been on the internet since 1994. Don't laugh, but I was actually one of the first to join America Online, who really did do a lot to make the Internet catch on with individuals. I started out when bulletin boards (BBS') were THE thing. It started as just an interesting past time but has become a significant part of most of our lives whether you know it (or will admit it) compared to the early years. And, in ten years it will have evolved into more than we can even imagine today.

I both agree and disagree. I don't believe the Internet is overrated. It is a BIG thing to most people and has made life easier for many people. I do agree, though, that if one doesn't keep a perspective it has the ability to create a bunch of reclusive people that never actually DO anything other than sit in front of a computer. People don't seem to read books anymore. They don't make their life an adventure, they just surf web pages where other people that do relate their stories. And that's scary.... |

The Internet has become a major part of my life. Every day of life without the Internet is frustrating. Internet has been ruling the present generation. Nowadays, Even shopping is done through the internet.
Moreover, being a Webmaster for 3 years now, It has become totally impossible to be without it!
Cheers,
