IS IT BETTER?

So we've all heard it..."It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" but I want to know, do you believe this? Is it better and why?

I think if I lost the one I loved it would be a hard blow. Sure I'd have the memories but one can't dwell on memories. What about being loved? One can love and not be loved back, so wouldn't it be nicer if you've been loved. I don't know. Tell me what you think ?
