|
|
There is a reason that forums were created. Some have done started them to get people together to talk about common interests such as love for a sport, a particular musical group, or a hobby. Others do it to recommend or not recommend particular products or services.
Others have decided to join forums to express their opinions about current events, religious views, and Others do it to help drive more traffic to their websites. Others join forums just to socialize and talk about nothing while yet others join to express artistic creativity, and to ask questions about things.
What is the reason you have decided to create a forum? _________________ Shopping, Dating, and More:

I'd say the majority of all forums these days are for the sole purpose of creating an income stream, or to add value to a pre-exisitng site.
With good adsense intergration, or even better, YPN if you've been approved, forums can bring in substantial ammount on their own.
Just watch the site for sale section on sitepoint, it's amazing the cash some established forums can fetch. |

Thank you for your response. You are probably right about the earning cash thing. That is why I signed up for this particular forum. However, I did quite a bit of forum posting for the fun of it and for personal growth on several group forums such as certain yahoo groups as well as even a christian group.
It is a great way to make new friends almost instantly I think. You can always find quite a few things to talk about when you sign up for even just one forum, at one forum site. If someone is lonely all they have to do is go on the web and sign up for them. That is one big reason I have signed up for them, and to express my opinions.
I am naturally very opinionated. I could have an opinion about almost anything. Which gives me an idea for a new forum...you'll see...

| I make private forums. They act as a central communication hub between me and my subcontractors. They become one big meeting place. The benefit for me is that I can post announcements and reminders, and also answer any questions my people have posted for me so that everyone can read the answer and I do not wind up receiving 50 emails with the same question. For my subcontractors they are able to keep on top of information, get to know each other and help each other with the job, and communicate with me out in the open. |
