Self publishers thought the most difficult job was writing the book. In comparison to what's ahead they will soon discover how much time has been wasted if they don't sell any books. Writing skills were needed for the book to be published, but to sell the book you need online internet marketing skills.
There are two types of marketing skills needed. First, you have to market yourself on the social networks. Make a few friends and establish some professional contacts. Hopefully some contacts will have a legitimate website with bloggers.
The second type of marketing skills you need will require you to get people going to your site in droves. Getting traffic to your website is by far the hardest part. Unfortunately, no one is giving this information away for free. Or, maybe I haven't found it yet. If that's the case, I'll appreciate any tips you're willing to share on free search engine and traffic sites. |
