Does anyone watch Animal Cops? I watch those shows and want to help those poor animals. How can people abuse animals like that? I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, but I could never hurt them, they are part of the family. I guess not all people who have animals, care about them, then why do they have animals in the first place? A question I am sure few people could answer.

I watch those shows as well and I myself have two dogs and two cats and I could never imagine hurting them. They are liek family to me,but some people see them as other things and they use them as they see fit, many of these people are anger issues and since they can't lash out at people they do to animals. Now sometimes I know it is not something a person means to do but many times just a matter of circuimstances. It is sad and these people that do that need help, because it has been documented that some people who do things to animals turn inot doing things to people as well.

I get really disturbed by these shows. One of my cats was abandoned by his first owner when he was a kitten. he is 10 now and he still has some very particular behaviors. He is a lot better now, but it just shows me how the affects of abuse and neglect stay with any animal. [/i]

Sometimes it has to do with how the people were raised. Where they came friends, animals weren't treated very well, so they saw no reason either.

It should also be noted that a history of torturing animals is a sign of psychopathic disorder.

Sometimes the animals are so numerous they are just see as pests. Myself, I hope to own a dog or two soon. Hopefully a Alsatian or a Doberman.

I hate those people! How could they possibly hurt animals like that? I have a cat and if someone would hurt him I would kick their asses.

I don't really understand it either. I get that not everyone likes animals but as far as I'm concerned if you really dislike something then you avoid it. It takes time and effort to be cruel to an animal so why bother unless you really do have a sadistic streak. I remember when I was younger some people in my area used to try to torture cats "for the laugh" - I can't comprehend where the fun is in that. Sick, really.

I can't watch any show showing to cruelty to animals at all. I don't even like to think about it. In my opinion, we need to toughen our laws on people who neglect or abuse animals. Crying or Very sad

I just watched an episode of that before logging on actually. First time watching but I thought it was pretty good, they were down in Houston, Texas I believe. There was a horse whose muzzle piece got embedded into the horse's face.... Sad Poor horse, but they also showed a court case with a student who kicked a dog on a high school security camera. The end was good though, rescued cat had a litter of kittens overnight! So cute!

I work with PETA and am a lifestyle vegan, so such cruelty is almost beyond my understanding. I guess some people, depending on their circumstances, lack a normal sense of empathy for others, human or otherwise.

I do not advocate animal cruelty but I will say this: animals are lessors to human beings, and anyone who disagrees needs to think about what we use animals for, and how we can purchase animals (legally), compared to not legally being able to sell or purchase humans. It is not right to mistreat animals, but we must remember that animals are animals, not humans and there are different laws for them, compared to humans.

I too watch those shows. I own a cat and like most of you, he is a part of the family. He's getting old so he's not as playful as before or as active but he is still a very very sweet cat, no way they deserve to be treated as shown on "Animal Cops".

Crying or Very sad

hmm..i don't watch does shows but i saw videos of cruelty and on news.once i saw a terrible video.it was a petition. They capture a type of a savage dog and take their fur when they are alive and then they leave them on the floor dying with pain.i can't understand why do they do these things so horrible.i think if God made us one of those poor creatures we would feel the same hurting feeling thing so why kill them????God made those creatures to live and get nature more beautiful.

Not all people are animal lovers...some people are cruel. In my country many people are haters...I've seen people that hit cats and dogs, even if those animals were harmless.I don't agree with animal cruelty and i think there should be a animal cops everywhere.

Almost all animals are harmless, and should be treated like wise. Most of them "haters" are troubled people, and should get immediate help, or get shot Neutral

I don't agree with animal cruelty.I think that only a sick man or woman can hurt animals.I've seen this movie on the internet about some kids playing soccer with a cat.I find it depressing.

People that are cruel to animals deserve to be imprisoned and pay a hefty sum of money to animal protection agencies. How can you still call yourself human after torturing innocent animals? It's sick!

I have to say that I think that sometimes these type of discussions are very hypocritical. People are against animal cruelty yet eat meat or wear leather/fur/feathers. I grew up on a farm, then worked on one for some time before moving to the city. I know what goes on in slaughterhouses, but most people seem to pretend that their beef taco was born in a vacuum sealed plastic package.

Overcrowding on farms, stress to the animal in slaughterhouses, being fed some of the nasty filler that cows and chickens eat...how is that different from what is seen on Animal Cops? It isn't, but we fool ourselves.

I have to end this by saying I am no different than others who still eat meat. Perhaps a little...I harbor no illusions about the pig or cow on my plate or how it came to be there.

Never actually seen cruel videos of people causing pain to their pets or to other animals.
Hunting wild animals i will understand, but torturing pet i cannot.. what pleasure does it give to that person?.
I have many pets and if something would happen to them i wouldn't be able to forgive myself.

Animal Cruelty, unfortunately, exists everywhere.
I've seen some shows where the images were so disturbing that all i could think about was: "how can someone be so cold-hearted".
