| There are a some forums that I've got where you can't post more than 1 reply in 60 seconds. Yes, I'm looking at you, wine forum. What do you do in this situation? I usually ignore them, and let you guys do the posting. I hate it when I have to waste time waiting. |

| To write a detailed good reply it will take longer than 60 seconds I think it is a good idea gets rid off all the rubbish posters. |

| No it's not. It just cripples conversations. And no, it does not take more than 60 seconds. I'm not writing novels, I'm talking to people. |

I don't think so. I think a fast typist can easily participate in a lively thread without writing novels every time they speak. It's a _conversation_, isn't it? People often smooth out discussions in 3D with short, pithy acknowledgments. "I agree on the first point but have questions on the second!" can make good sense to the people who are involved. There are plenty of people who can kill a thread with silence. Going too S L O W L Y can kill it too.

Even in my experience I find some sites fast and some very slow
and as my other friend did I just leave it alone.

Our responses should be NO SHORTER than 12 words and too many replies or threads that are shorter than they should be could result in booster accounts being suspended or terminated.
As far as the original post, not a problem really. Just open a new browser window and work on another site while you are waiting. |

I have one that makes you wait 300 seconds.
There are some forums where I can reply quicker than 60 seconds if I am well versed in the subject matter, and other forums where it takes me five minutes.
Also it won't let you type more than 300 characters as your reply. |

I love hearing that other people do this since I'm the master multi-tasker over here. (I usually have a few different sites up at a time, while watching tv, reading a magazine and chatting via IM with a few people...no, I don't mix any of the conversations up).
In addition to having multiple sites up, I've found that many of the slower posting sites will let me have multiple windows up for the forum at the same time. While I can usually post a reply fairly quickly, there's always that one topic that requires me to read through several posts to really get a feel for it before I'm moved to post a response, or it just takes me a while to organize and type out my response. I tend to work on those threads while waiting to be able to post again in the conversation thread. |
