I was interested in starting a forum but I don't know how to go about it. I want to learn how to make my own template of some kind but I'm not web savvy either. Is there an easy way to get your forum started without all that tech jargon?

I would strongly recommend that you decide what forum software you want to use for your forum, and look for free (or inexpensive) templates that will satisfy you while your forum is growing. You can then use that template as a base from which to modify and tweak repeatedly until you are satisfied. To try to learn how to create a template when you have no forum to try it on will be very difficult, or impossible. The most important thing is to get started and get the details (thousands of them) worked out before your forum takes off and gets busy.

Forum members are often very helpful in testing new templates, mods, etc for you as well as offering you their opinions. I selected a team of beta testers from my membership four years ago when I switched forum software and five of the seven I picked are still with me as moderators. They have been instrumental in making the forum a success.... Smile

I forgot to add, if you want a forum, but have no knowledge of how to go about it, you may need a forum consultant to help you. There's not a lot of people that specialize in that particular area and many won't help you unless you pay them, but some will. While I primarily charge for my consulting time, I have also helped new forum owners for free. You just have to find them. Then, after your forum is all setup you come back here and hire some paid posters to get you started. Very Happy
